Donkey Kong III is a Jump'n run from Nintendo
The arcade game was developed in 1983 by Nintendo's development studio Nintendo Research & Development 1, it is the successor to Donkey Kong Jr.
Donkey Kong hangs from tendrils in the middle of the screen, and player-controlled Stanley the Exterminator runs and jumps on platforms below him. Stanley can fire insect spray on Donkey Kong as well as on insects flying through the levels. A level is completed when Donkey Kong is forced to climb to the top of the screen because he is constantly sprayed with insect spray, or by killing all insects. A Super Spray can will fall down on the vines if Donkey Kong has been pushed up far enough. The Super Spray only lasts for a limited time and makes Donkey Kong climb up much faster, making it easier to complete the level. It only appears at the beginning of each attempt. The insects include queen bees that fall to deadly pieces when destroyed, butterflies, beetles, moths and grape-eaters. Some of the insects try to pick up the flowers at the bottom of the screen and carry them away. Lost flowers reduce the bonus at the end of a level.
There are a total of three levels in a fixed order, which are repeated after the game is finished..
