EPROM

This device is an Electrically Programmable Read-Only Memory
(EPROM). It has a size of 64 Kbit, organized as 8192 Words by 8 Bit. The Memory
cells can be selected by 13 address lines and then switched to the data outputs
D0-D7 with OUTPUT ENABLE (/OE). Before that the EPROM must be activated with
CHIP SELECT (/CS).
Memory contents can be cleared by ultraviolet light, therefore EPROMs have a
transparent opening that is taped over with a Label after programming. Erased
EPROMs can be reprogrammed with an EPROM programmer. The programming
voltage depends upon type 12,5V (27C256) or 21V (27256). The complete
programming process takes about 1 to 2 minutes, depending upon EPROM type.
